Be glad it is not Al

matt-lauer.jpg

This may deviate a bit from the normal routine of One Gay At A Time, but damn that Matt Lauer is a well constructed man! Here is a DILF if I have ever seen one.

This has been a terribly stressful week and I am glad that the weekend is here.

That is all.

only a block away from zabars

I had the feeling all of last evening that I had neglected something, that something very important that I was supposed to be doing. I had a very nice dinner and conversation with Dan, then went over to Park Ave House where I had a great conversation with some of the guys there, then home where I had a great conversation with a sponsee. As I was getting into bed pleased with the very pleasant day I had, but still feeling as if something was off balance I turned the tv on.

I HAD MISSED PROJECT RUNWAY!

This is the second time this week that I have allowed annoying interpersonal real relationships to interfere with the pretend relationships I have with the people who live in the magical talking box. This is becoming completely unacceptable.

Fortunately Bravo really only has 3 shows to run and since the have played every episode of Law & Order(and God love them for that) the reaired Runway and I was able to watch Jeffrey be an asshole to that nice suburban lady. Sad to see Robert go, he was nice to look at. I would rather they auf Kayne and Vincent. I friggin' hate that simpy fake smile that he lacquers on his face whenever the camera is on him.

And really, what is with Micheal Kors mother?

with friends like you

15813871242946l.jpg

I may be having lunch with my friend Melissa R today, although she tends to blow me off at the last minute with some regularity. She loves it when she gets mentioned in the blog. I picture her gathering all her co-workers around her flickering computer screen in her office pointing at the words and insisting in a somewhat pathetic way "See I do have friends, HA!", then in the evening telling her husband about her active social life.

Boy I can be a bitch.

The Countess Maritza may not be making an appearance this year. I may be in West Hollywood for the Halloween festivities and tafetta just does not pack well, so I may be leaving her at home. Anyone out there need a size 14 platinum ball gown skirt, 50 yards of material? I am just asking.

walls of burnished bronze and golden braid

Well, I am an idiot. You see 8 o'clock EST is 7 o'clock CST, pretty obvious right? Not to me, and I completely missed Prison Break. Was I running errands? NO Was I deep in thought? NO I was watching another show getting ready for the season 2 premiere of Prison Break and missed the entire thing. Thank God for itunes.

I did go see the Illusionist last night. Great movie, very pretty and a good story. I have been on a little run of seeing movies and this has been the best of late, so go see it.

When a thing is wick

30897351161313l.jpg

I am gay, not just have sex with boys gay, but really, really gay.A strand of pearls and a sweater set away from Blythe Danner gay.

Saturday I was busy painting a chandelier black, including all of the crystals for a post-modern twist on a recognized classic.

That's gay in itself

While I was painting I was listening to Secret Garden, singing along to Wick.

Yup, Gay

I always cry a little when Dicken talks about the miracle of getting a poor crippled boy into his mother's garden.

That's pretty gay, isn't it?

I did achieve some level of peace of mind when I recieved calls back from a couple of friends I called to check myself. You see neither Brian of Jeff were able to answer the phone when I called as they were both watching My Fair Lady and could not be disturbed. By the way, Jeff lives in Minneapolis and Brian lives in Dallas so these were independant homos who do not even know each other.

Fags.

I saw Snakes on a Plane and World Trade Center this weekend.

First, Snakes on a Plane. It was alot of fun and I would recommend it if you want to be startled and laugh. Nothing serious here, but definately many reasons to squirm uncomfortably in your seats and laugh at yourself.

WTC, excellent and respectful. Stone makes amazing films.I left drained and realizing how much people are able to do.

Prison Break premiere tonight!

Wentworth Miller makes me glad I am gay.

There are Motherfuckin' Snakes on the Motherfuckin' Plane

6815813727606l.jpg

Snakes on a Plane opens tonight and I couldn't be happier. My entire office, all of whom are mildly claustrophobic, afraid of snakes and frequent fliers, are going together. It should be a hoot. I have to give credit to New Line Cinema and their marketing department, genius, really.

It was so nice to be home last night. I did crap around the house and went to bed early, I really need more nights like that. I am hoping to have a few of them this weekend.

turn around bright eyes

30149104137672l.jpg

I had the chance to hit a meeting in Houston on Tuesday and have dinner with my friends Cisco and Steve. I have not seen these guys since Thanksgiving and it was great to get together. Cisco had no idea that I was going to be there and I had to work pretty hard to catch his eye during the meeting, you will have to read his account.

It was a very nice trip, but very, very hot and regardless of what Mike F says, my being affected by heat does not make me a Sally. I am a Sally for many other reason.

Snakes on a Plane opens tomorrow, I can not wait. Just to hear Samuel L Jackson say" There are motherfucking snakes on the motherfucking plane" I can't wait!

On other movie news, my friend Bryan called me this morning to tell me that Tim Burton is directing a film version of Sweeny Todd. Johnny Depp will star, should be interesting.

I have been travelling alot for work lately and am delighted to be home for a while,a s are my cats. Hopefully I will be posting with a little more frequency, so check back.

For Tim H and Melissa E

fabian.jpg

I want to make sure that my realtor friend Melissa E, from Buffalo(actually Snyder) knows that she is being mentioned in the blog, this is NOT a mention of Melissa R, who lives here in Minnesota.

The picture posted today is in honor of my friend Tim also from Buffalo(actually, Clarence) who has complained that the men on the blog do not properly represent. I would say that Tim likes his guys a little doughy and pale, except we once tried dating and to be honest he is totally in love with me to this day, so I don't know what that would say about me.

Tim, Melissa and I had a great dinner this past weekend at Papaya on Chippewa St in Buffalo. I have not seen Melissa in 10 years or so, it was a great evening. We were almost on TV, but no one knew anything about the Bills.

Also eating at Papaya was one of my first boyfriends, John. He used to look like Christopher Atkins.

He doesn't anymore.

In 83 or so John took me to see SuperTramp, it was during there "It's Raining Again" period. He had asthma and for the longest time I connected kissing with a medicinal taste. He also dumped me when I turned 17, because I "was getting a little old"!

I am still getting over that.

It was a very nice trip home, too quick, but work calls.

in case there's a change in the weather

20747540762243l.jpg

Sometimes I am a little self absorbed, alright perhaps a little more often than “sometimes”

For example, when my friend and co-worker suffered through a seizure at work and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital the first thing I did was to call a friend and talk about the horrible experience I just had.

I received a very disjointed phone call from a different co-worker recently, I really thought for a moment that this person was drunk (they were not; they simply thought they had called another person). My first thought, “Great, now I am going to have to take on all of their work too!”

My good friend Mike called this morning from Heathrow airport, where due to terrorist threats security measures have been greatly heightened. My first thought, “ I hope this doesn’t create difficulties for work and ruin my weekend”

I think I am a bad person.

On a happier note, I am off to my friend Allie’s wedding this weekend. Is it a bad thing that I want people to notice how cute my seersucker suit is? Or to really rave over my gift?

Oh God, I am a bad person!

HERE! I have posted!

My life has been crazy busy lately, lots of travel and I have not always had the 15-20 minutes it takes to put together a little post.

My deepest apologies.

4 Jews in a room bitching

15770117640726l.jpg

Mel Gibson, where to start? Now I realize that this is all an elaborate conspiracy by the Jews to destroy Mel's good name and the work he does to spread the truth of the Catholic Church, we all know how the Jews love a conspiracy. But does Mel have to go all Eva Braun on the arresting officer (who just happens to be Jewish?)? Doesn't he realize that hurts his cause? And now, of course, the people in charge of programming at ABC, and I imagine there are not a lot of Lutherans in that crowd, have cancelled Mel's honest look at the Holocaust.

OK, even I cannot maintain this level of sarcasm this long. I hope that Mel gets the help he needs; he is obviously a very sick man.

PS, I love the Jews. Although I think that even saying that makes me anti-Semitic doesn't it? There really is no way to defend your not being racist?
