it takes two of us

I was flipping through the channels last night and on Lifetime, television for women and gay men, there was a wonderful drama starring Gregory Harrison circa 1985. OK, I only watched long enough to realize that he was not going to take his shirt off in the scene then I moved on, but I am sure it was wonderful. It got me thinking, and that is hard to do. I can remember being 15, 16 years old watching that horrible Trapper John MD show just for the opening sequence when Greg, he likes it when I call him Greg, would walk out of the shower on his RV and wrap the towel around his trim little waist. Damn I loved me some Gonzo Gates!
So of my adolescent fantasies, Gregory Harrison was toward the top of the list, along with Christopher Atkins, Willie Ames, Mike Radeke(he lived up the street from me and left his curtains open all the time God love him) and the guy who surprised his family by coming home for Christmas in the Folger's coffee commercial.
Who are yours?

Even I remember the guy from the Folgers commercial. Did you know that he sued Folgers for using his image on product packaging that wasn't orginally contracted? He was never paid the royalties for that package and he was awarded millions. Pretty huge win for him, considering he was only due a couple of thousand for use of his image on that box if he had been paid appropriately before they went to print.

Everyone will probably laugh, but the tall blonde guy on the Lawrence Welk show, Tom Netherton, used to make my heart race, especially when he sang with that really deep, baritone voice. (I was only 10 at the time.) Other favorites from adolescence were John Schneider, and Christopher Reeve. The first time I saw a life-size cut-out of Christopher Reeve in the mall dressed up as the new Superman, I stopped and gaped with almost everyone else.

Harry Hamlin and the "other" guy from Making Love. I can understand why Harry fell for him. I will agree Gonzo Gates was the guy... liked him better after he got his haircut. Clooney when he appeared on Facts of Life. Scott Baio from Happy Days. Memories....
BTW, do you give "Life" -America's Weekend Magazine? There is a great picture of your "guy" Wentworth Miller in it this weekend. It also asks him 4 questions. HANDSOME MAN! Wow!

LOL! Great topic Jim :) Jon Erik Hexum from Cover Up still does it for me. Oh, and Dack Rambo from Dallas. And a little old school Jim Palmer in those Jockey ads never hurt at all.
