the minute you walked in the door

We had a great thunderstorm here last night, the heat has broken a bit and it is just beautiful out, glorious day.
I have also discovered the tastiness of Kashi TLC Honey Sesame crackers and what could possibly make a day brighter than finding a new treat.
My Dad called me last night to tell me that my mother was having major surgery on tuesday, but that I shouldn't worry. Dear God, what was he thinking! A little investigative work clarified that it is not major, it is outpatient and taking place in the doctors office. At least I know from whence I get my dramatic flair.
Most importantly today is my friend Laura's Birthday, 29 years old again, so send out happy birthday wishes to her today!!!

LOL. It's hard not to panic when your parents get sick or have any type of surgery. Part of you thinks, "I'm too YOUNG to have parents who are dying!!!" (And, of course, you worry about their wellbeing because you love them. :)

My mom usually calls the night before her doctor's appointment, like 10 pm and says, "well, if you are too busy, I can take a the bus. The appointment isnt till 7 am." Such drama. And she usually knows about it 2 or 3 weeks head of time. But they are our moms.
Hope she has a speedy recovery, even if it is outpatient.

And she knows about these appointments well in advance. What do I do? She is my mom. (I call me nephew and pay him to take her. lol)Hope your mom has a speedy recovery, even if it was outpatient. :)
