I'm Back
What a great weekend. I love Boston, always have and it was a wonderful experience to see it as a sober guy.
Friday I flew into Logan around noon. The flight from Chicago to Boston was filled with a middle school orchestra from Nebraska. Thank God for my ipod!
Met my friend Mike's girlfriend Laura outside the Fleet Center and went back to Mikes to drop off the bags. Laura is a trip! We spent the day spending on Newbury Street. Good times, Laura reads my blog everyday and knew a frightenly amount of info about me. I felt like I was spending time with a fan, which is a good feeling indeed. Of course, by the time friday ended I had become a major fan of Lauras too.
Went to an AA meeting on Newbury, then after a few failed attempts at finding a resturant to grab dinner at, we order Chinese and went back to Mikes to wait for him.
Saturday morning was another AA meeting, where I actually got to hear a guy use the word "pisser", a necessary Boston experience. Walked back through Beacon Hill, by John Kerry's House. with Mike, Laura and a very funny guy named Nick.( See Nick, you got a mention too) Ispent some time walking around the city, making a spiritual ammends of sorts. Boy did I walk, Back Bay, South End, Kendall Square, Downtown Crossing, Chinatown, Bay Village... covered it all.
Saturday Night was a bit of work, literally, I was there to work. Then platters of oysters on the half shell.mmmmmmmmmmmmm, there are no really good raw bars in Minnesota.
Sunday morning, AA, then a great brunch at the Garden of Eden on Tremont. Back to work, which was great, a very cool family and yes, Mike, you did an amazing job. The flight back was smooth and it felt good to sleep in my own bed with the boys.
I would love to find a way to move back to Boston, I really feel at home there.
Yesterday I went to a bbq at Art's, always a good time-croquet and pinatas. Could you ask for more?
It is good to be home.

Ooh, I rarely got to travel for any of my jobs. (Well, to anyplace good, anyhow.) Sounds like a good time! :)

Glad you had a good trip. It is amazing to experience familiar places sober. And to meet that beautiful creature..... Tushy. :)
