What a great weekend I
What a great weekend I had! Saw some great theater, spent time with people I love and busted my ass in spin class. Then last night, I was surfing around and ran into an old friend from Buffalo, NY. It was very nice to talk to David and hear some news about people I had lost touch with. I think I may have made David's night a little more, I told him about a mutual friend who lives here in Minneapolis. Tony had tested positive in the early eighties, but is doing very well. David, and apparently many others thought that he had died. This was accepted as common knowledge. So, it was nice to reserect someone.
I am switching offices, and computers, again at work today. Lots of deleting and reprogramming to do. Wish me luck.

I have a very busy
I have a very busy weekend ahead. Friday night I am off to the theater, saturday I have a nice date planned, then sunday I am off to the theater again! I really am TV's Bizzy Gal.Work has been busy, Nicole is off to force ham on to people at another company. Of course, I wish her the best of luck(I actually really like Nicole). But her leaving has put alot more work on my plate, but less ham.
The cats are not fighting each night to see who gets to sleep closer to me. Why doesn't this happen with guys? At least they are male cats.

Gov. Pawlenty has a really
Gov. Pawlenty has a really great idea.
He wants to take away state health care from adults who do not have
children, telling them that they should get jobs that have benefits or
private pay until the reach poverty level! How could anyone suggest a
program that works to keep people poor? Ugh.
Best Picture:
Finding Neverland
Best Actor:
Jamie Foxx
Best Actress:
Annette Bening
Best Supporting Actor:
Clive Owen
Best Supporting Actress:
Natalie Portman
Well, those are my choices, if the Academy is listing. I was really struck by the blandness of the Oscar nominees this year. I am not excited about any of the movies that came out this past year. The only possible exception was Closer, which was sadly overlooked (except for Clive Owen and Natalie Portman).

And so it is
And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes...
And so it is
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the time
And so it is
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes...
Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind...
My mind...
my mind...'
Til I find somebody new

Snowfall
We had a beautiful snowfall here in the Twin Cities on Friday. I am from Buffalo, New York originally and miss the snow. Here in Minneapolis it gets bitter cold, but we really do not get a lot of snow. It finally seems like winter.
I went to a 40th birthday party last night. They held it in a funeral parlor! How fucking funny is that? When my mom turned 40, my father had a birthday party for her in the community room of a local nursing home.
I always thought that was a great idea, but I have to say the funeral parlor idea is much better. I will turn 40 next year, and now I have to top this(no jokes about me topping anything, ok). Oh the pressure. I am open to ideas( no jokes about what I am open to).
So back to last nights party. It was a very attractive crowd, lots of guys going to the bathromm in pairs, if you know what I mean. Having this group all under one roof for an evening must have devasted the traffic on gay.com
I made some turkey chili yesterday. I have not made any since I dated Tom, who could not have spice added to anything and I was so whipped I ruined my favorite dish. Anyhow, I think I may have overdone the spice just a little. Still, nothing is better on a cold snowy day than homemade chili.

Well, Johnny Carson is dead. I can remember when I was little, sneaking out into the hall outside of the den at my parents house and listening to Carson's monologue. I didn't understand most of the jokes, but would listen to what people laughed at and then try to say it again at a different time.
I talked to my Dad after I heard that Johnny had died. My Dad is in his 70's and talked for a while about how all his peers are dying. Kind of sad. I didn't relly know what to say to him, I mean it is true.
Had a great nap this afternoon with the cats fighting to get the honored sleeping place of my neck. It was sweet at first, then when they started biting each other and rolling around it got old. They are my babies.

Nicie's Tired
All this week I have been in bed by 8 o'clock. When did I become my Grandfather? There was a time when I was up all night and at work most days) all day. How did I possibly manage that? Oh, yeah, that's how. Well maybe my Grandfather had a better way of living. Busy start to my day already, hardly time to take out for blogging. I hate it when my job gets in the way of my social activities!
No big plans this weekend, and that is fine by me. I really was kicked by that flu, so it is nice to have some healing time.

Wanda Wisdom has named ME
Wanda Wisdom has named ME her blog drag queen. There are no words to express the great honor that I feel. When I told my mother that I was the reigning blog drag queen she cried and cried, the pride she felt must have been overwhelming.
I am finally feeling better. I was terribly sick last week and have been going right home from work and getting to bed every night this week. This rest thing that I have been hearing about for years seems to have something going for it.
I have eliminated caffiene from my diet. I has officially been one week without coffee, or diet coke and the headaches are starting to subside.
I am still not sure why I am doing this, but it felt like a good thing to do in the new year. Now if I could just stop yawning!

it's getting better
After five days off I brought my shaky almost well ass back to work. I am still feeling a little "out of it", I really do not remember ever being that sick before. Being sick is something that I never dealt with while I was using. I would stay high through illness, or perhaps the drugs were just killing all the bacteria along with me, I don't know.
Being sober and being sick is interesting. I almost feel high, the little bit of confusion and disorientation that accompanies fever reminds me of coming down from x.
It would be nice to be in warm weather,it was a bracing -17 at Lunds this morning. But, January is almost over and there will be only two more months in winter. I do love spring.

I am a sick girl
I am finally feeling a little better. For a couple of days there I was really sick. Now, after existing on diet ginger ale and club crackers for three days my appetite is coming back a little. The only thing that I have in my house that does not require preparation is a half of a bag of Cape Cod salt and vinegar potato chips. I am still sick enough that they have no flavor.
I watched the entire second season of Sex in the City last night, great show. I have actually been so sick that I have not been bored being at home in bed, by myself.
I am having impure thoughts watching snowboard competion on tv. Time to shave. I have not shaved in 4 days, and as an Irish guy I have a heavy beard, this should be an uncomfortable experience.

I actually felt good watching
I actually felt good watching a reality TV show. Last night I watched the live finale of The Biggest Loser, and it was somewhat refreshing. No one was flapping their siliconed lips as to why the should receive all the money in their husbands will, no one ate any animals rectum, and no one had to help a drunken mini me into bed. The entire finale, the entire show (except for that horrible Caroline Rhea) was a celebration of people accomplishing positive things in their life. Rare for TV, and kind of refreshing.
It is supposed to be -20 in the Twin Cities tomorrow morning. This is the measure of cold with the revised wild chill monitor, if this were last year it would be -45. NEGATIVE FORTY FIVE!!!!!!!I can already feel a cold coming on, so you can imagine that I am pretty darned excited about that! What ridiculous people settled here! Why didn't I go to treatment in Arizona and stay there to keep sober? Is staying in Minnesota helping me to stay sober? Why do I have so many questions?
My friend Joe Leary is in a new show at the Park Square Theatre, he is a very talented guy( don't tell him I said anything nice about him) so go see it!

nice weekend. I went to
nice weekend. I went to the outlets at albertville with fabian and justin. bought some really cute shoes at the puma outlet, where my friend scott works. I have pictures and I am sure that you are all dying to see shots of me shopping, but they are on my laptop and I am updating my blog from work right now.
frank and henry have become fast friends. I couldn't be happier watching them play together, it warms my cold little heart.
fabian and I went to costco on sunday afternoon. there are alot of homos that buy bulk!
there was a blogger get together here in minneapolis on sunday, but dan told me that I was too old to go and that this was only for the "young gay minnesota bloggers". I let dan get away with this one, I have to be nice once in a while, or he might crush me with his enormous ass.

Nicole, who brought me lunch
Nicole, who brought me lunch today (the order was correct, but the food was cold and half my chips had been eaten), has a problem with me. She gets worked up because I do not use caps when entering information into our database. Apparently this gets her so worked up that she spent an hour revising all the entries I made today. It gives me such glee to know that I have the power to control her emotions like this. I think in the future I will randomly change the pattern with which I use the caps key.
Nik has opened a Pandora's Box with this one.
During the discussion of the cap fiasco of '05, the topic of fonts came up. When I mentioned my affection for comic sans, my boss Andrew informed me thats comic sans is a gay font.
WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN! OK, I know what it means and yes comic sans is a little gay, but I really want to sue someone so I may take this and run.

Welcome Henry
Well Frank has a new friend. His name is Henry. Frank is not excited about sharing his house with Henry. Henry tries to come out of his room, but Frank has to get used to the smell of a new housemate.
After two days of smelling each other under the door, Frank and Henry come face to face and
things don't really go well.
Now it is a few hours later and Frank and Henry are running through the house playing. I think they will be very happy together.

The second appearance of the Ham Buying Nicole
Something has happened to my computer which is now allowing pop ups at every new screen. Our IT guys just yelled at the woman in the office across from me, the ham buying Nicole of yesterdays post, about how she let a virus in by chatting with people, so I am afraid to say anything lest I too am yelled at.
I saw the aviator last night
I liked it. It is very long, and slow, but pretty. I wanted to see a movie that was just pretty. We went to Olive Garden before, boy that place is a shitbox. Last time I eat at the preferred pre-homecoming dance dining spot for Juniors from Fridley High School, although they have really good salad.
Fabian gave me a lovely wallet from Coach
He figure that it was time I stepped up from the J Crew Magic Wallet
so, later today I may be posting a slightly used j crew magic wallet on ebay, get yourself a deal!
Frank and Henry have yet to meet face to face. That is planned for tonight, wish everyone luck!

It is wednesday, and now
It is wednesday, and now that I am working a monday through friday, nine to five life, I understand why this day is so exciting. I started working about 20 years ago(yikes that is a sobering thought), and have always had at least one job that was in food service or retail, so I have always worked on the weekend. Suddenly I find myself at a new "grown up" job that allows me the leisure of free weekends. Now I need to learn to relax.
Well, Frank is not adjusting well to having a new guy around the house. He spent a good part of the evening staring under the door and hissing.
Henry just wanted to play. I have to say that I am more than a little enamored by this new kitty, he purrs the second he is picked up. It will take a couple of days, and I am introducing Henry according to vet's instructions.
I just checked out STB'sblog.
He had the strength to come out today, I applaud that. He also identifies himself as Senator Michelle Bachman's son. For those of you not in Minnesota, she is the leader of all anti-gay legislation.
Something is hitting the fan in Stillwater tonight!

I don't like ham
I don't like ham. I don't think it is that difficult to get an order correct, but apparently my co-worker Nicole does.
When sent on an easy errand to to get lunch for the office( she was late to work today and is leaving early)she brings back a ham sandwich. OK, my part in this is that I ordered a "california" sandwich-avacado and all that-when I really wanted a "beach club". One would think that Nicole would have called and asked me, but no, she brings me ham.
can she do anything right? I ask you that!
Well I have now let this go.

posted here. Thanks! Keep them coming!
If one of these hot guys feels like stopping by, I am listed baby! Check your phone book.
Good weekend. Went to see the Phantom of the Opera movie. Really didn't like it. I went to the bathroom about 3/4's of the way through and realized I was not going back in.
