I have been so busy

I have been so busy lately. Working at the Bou and the Firm, travelling( now I am off to Chicago), having guests(Julie came to town and we had a great dinner at Barbette), meetings, meeting with sponsees and time with friends. My life is full.

Is it odd that I am not worked up about being single?

I would like to meet someone, I mean it is only 4 months until Christmas and I would love to have someone to open gifts with in the morning, but I am not obsessed with it. It would just be nice. My roommate has given me his notice. He just got a new job in Albertville and thinks that it is too far of a drive from uptown. So now it is time to redo my budget. I am going to live alone, or at least give it a try. I don't feel like training a new roomie.

I went to a wedding

I went to a wedding this afternoon in Bedford Hills, New York. It was like a casting call for the Sopranos. Really, it was unbelievable. I was hoping to see a shooting of some sort, but left disappointed. The food however was quite satisfying. I have missed fresh seafood since living in Minneapolis and they had lobsters for all, plus some filets for the meat eaters, or the truly selfish, and yes the fillet was very good.

It was a little uncomfortable being at a wedding where I knew no one, David was off mixing with his old friends and I was sitting with Bobo for some of the time. Most of the time I was by myself, staring at the gigantic siliconed breasts of the bartender, and thinking about how tasty a vodka soda would be. So, I moved past that and made the Daves spend time with me. It still comes up for, the desire to drink, I thank God that I have the tools to deal with it.

I had to do some 9th step work with Julie last night, that probably feuled the boozy thoughts. She was so great about it all. It was a much bigger deal in my head than when it all finally came out. Isn't that always the case.

Off for pizza and a movie, tomorrow, shopping in NYC, and maybe some more legion work!

Missionary Positions

As a spiritual man, it is important for me to look for sin everywhere I go. Thank heavens, I am able to find it at every turn in New York City.

I have done some very in depth research here already and, as Fabian likes to say, can report that things are much worse here than we could have possibly hoped for.

Wish me godspeed sisters in my outreach.

Jet-Setter

I have the weekend off and am headed on a little trip. Going to New York to see some old much loved friends. I wish I knew how to download right from my phone, but Dan refuses to share that info with me. If I figure it out I will post pics from the streets of New York as I stumble across them.

I have been working alot lately and really need this vacation. When I get back I am going to make sure that I have more time for myself. There also has to be some dating. It has been too long since my last boyfriend, and since no one is wandering the street in front of my house looking to date, I guess I need to get out there again.

Went to Wilde Roast on tuesday after dinner at the Monte Carlo. I do love my tuesday night routine, and the guys who are part of it. My roommate has told me that he is looking to move out. He is hoping to get a new job in Albertville, and it is a bit of a commute from Uptown.

I have decided that I will live alone. While it will cut into my mad money, it will be nice to have the place to myself.

I will update you after my trip to the big apple.
